A Study on Materials and Environmental Conditions for Mechanistic-Empirical Design Method of Asphalt Pavement in Cold Snowy Regions
This study involved the examination of a method for considering the characteristic values of materials and environmental conditions to be adopted in mechanistic-empirical design for asphalt pavement in cold snowy regions. Consideration was based on findings from surveys conducted on test roads and the outcomes of laboratory experiments. The results suggested the need to consider the resilient modulus in relation to freezing and thawing. A method involving the setting of the resilient modulus for each pavement layer was also proposed.
