18th ITS World Congress, Orlando, 2011. Proceedings
The 18th ITS World Congress, which took place in Orlando, Florida from October 16 to 20, 2011, emphasized the theme of intelligent transportation being a key to keeping the economy moving. There were over 8,000 delegates from more than 65 countries. Many of the demonstrations were focused on Connected Vehicle technologies that allow cars to avoid crashes by communicating with each other and the roadway infrastructure. The present and future of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) were explored. The scientific and technical papers prepared for this conference are included on this DVD along with other pertinent information.
