Relation between molecular structure of succinimide dispersants and dispersancy of soot in a carbon black dispersancy test
The effectiveness of ashless dispersants in solubilising soot has been investigated in terms of molecular parameters such as maleic acid/ polyisobutylene ratio, maleic acid/ polyamine ratio and pib molecular weight. A good correlation was found between molecular polarity (as expressed by polyamine/ polyisobutylene ratio) and soot dispersancy (a).
