Design of pavement thickness for simple flexible pavements
A review of some pavement thickness design techniques showing how most pavement design done by local government engineers and consultants can be greatly simplified to produce sound design. The review shows that the designer requires basic data only on the CBR values of the subgrade and some limited projection of traffic loading over the design life of the pavement to calculate the required pavement depth (a).
