Development of an intelligent road damage inspection system
The Hanshin Expressway Public Corporation has been developing a road damage inspection system in which a camera mounted on a moving inspection vehicle captures images of the road surface. These images are then analyzed using image-processing technology to identify damage to the road surface. This paper describes the development purpose, technological objectives, and development approach of the road damage inspection system, and presents the results of the feasibility test.
