The implementation of the National Driver Licensing Scheme policy
This report examines whether the legislation that implements the National Driver Licensing Policy (NDLP) in Australian States and Territories is uniform or consistent with the NDLP. The NDLP was approved by Australian Transport Ministers in December 1997. The principal finding of the report is that the jurisdictions have either adopted the NDLP without modification or have adopted the Policy with only minor changes. Secondly, the report has found that jurisdictions which have not implemented aspects of the Policy, are presently enacting legislation to do so.
