NEXTCITY: A VISION FOR URBAN TRAVEL

Nextcity is a vision for how world populations will use urban transport in the future – maybe 10-15 years hence – maybe sooner. It is Cubic’s response to the mega-trends that we see emerging in the world today. Advancement in telecommunication technology and infrastructure globally are driving a trend towards people and devices being always connected or “always on” are making it feasible to collect huge amounts of real-time data. This means people and devices can be updated in real-time with information to change travel behaviour. Nextcity is a means to enable us to talk about how the critical systems fit together – the systems that will enable the benefits of all this technology to come together for the benefit of passengers and operators alike
