Research on Digital Subgrade Settlement Device and Performance Testing
With the booming of high-speed railway, highway and other infrastructure engineering, traditional settlement observation devices cannot meet the increasing settlement deformation control requirement of engineering projects. They have many serious problems such as low precision of measurement, low degree of automation, and high interference of human factors. Therefore, researching and developing new observation devices with reliable function, low price, and high precision has significant meaning. According to the need of practical engineering, we have developed a new kind of digital sub grade settlement device on the basis of water tube settlement gauges in this article. This device, under the prerequisite of remaining constant volume, uses vibrating-wire transducer to measure the surface pressure difference of certain points in the liquid pipe before and after the settlement for determining their sedimentation value. Laboratory experiments of performance testing prove that its stability and durability can meet the long-term observation requirements, it can achieve automatic observation, and its high precision of measurement makes sure the errors are controlled within 1mm. Therefore, this device can be widely used in the settlement observation of sub grade, important structures, dam, and river bank foundation and so on.
