LIBRARY SEARCH FOR LITERATURE IN THE FIELD OF STRUCTURE WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO PUBLICATIONS WHICH ARE PERTINENT TO THE DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF ICEBREAKERS

A library search for literature in the field of structures was conducted with special reference to publications pertinent to the design and construction of icebreakers. The annotated bibliography produced was computerized enabling it to be of use to both design and research engineers in problem solving. A search of ten standard references was conducted, with special attention given to analysis of structures based on theories of elasticity and with special emphasis on method of approach. In all cases, computer application has been stressed, and articles on all aspects of icebreaker design and construction have received special attention. ( Author )
