WYDOT Customer Satisfaction Survey 2010

In fall 2010 the Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) and the Wyoming Survey & Analysis Center (WYSAC) of the University of Wyoming contracted to conduct a customer satisfaction survey of Wyoming households. The 2010 effort is the fifth iteration of this telephone survey, which has been administered biennially since 2002. As is the case with several previous iterations, the 2010 survey instrument incorporates most of the questions used in earlier surveys with appropriate modifications (additions, deletions, and changes in question phrasing deemed proper through collaboration between WYDOT and WYSAC). It also continues to phrase time-sensitive questions such that they will remain relevant and comparable if the survey continues to be administered biennially (i.e., many questions, if phrased to refer to a specific period in the past, prompt respondents to think in two-year blocks). The 2010 iteration of this customer satisfaction survey augments, for the first time, the land-line telephone sample with a cell phone subsample. These customer satisfaction surveys serve two important purposes: they provide the citizens of Wyoming with the opportunity to express opinions and perceptions about services provided by WYDOT, and they supply WYDOT with valuable consumer perspective to inform policy. Data gathered are analyzed to provide information about current status as well as change over time.
