Bewertung der Fremdgefaehrdung von Fahrzeugen bei einer Frontalkollision mit einem anderen Personenwagen aus EuroNCAP-Frontalanprallversuchen / Assessment of third party hazard by passenger cars in frontal collisions with other cars, based on EuroNCAP frontal crash test rsults

Kollidieren grosse, schwere Fahrzeuge mit kleinen, leichten, ist ihre Fremdgefaehrdung entscheidend fuer das Verletzungsrisiko der Insassen, vorwiegend natuerlich im kleinen, leichten Fahrzeug. Um herauszufinden, wie sich die Fremdgefaehrdung moeglichst vieler Fahrzeuge mit wirtschaftlich vertretbarem Aufwand bewerten laesst, untersuchte die DTC, ob die Barrierendeformationszeit, ermittelt aus veroeffentlichten EuroNCAP-Frontalaufprallversuchen, als Mass fuer den Partnerschutz bei Pkw/Pkw-Kollisionen verwendbar ist. ABSTRACT IN ENGLISH: In collisions between big and heavy cars with small and light ones, the third party hazard of the former is crucial to the injury risk for the passengers in the small and light car. Yet how can such third party hazard of cars be evaluated for a big amount of cars at a reasonable cost? The DTC Dynamic Test Center Inc. in Vauffelin/Biel has developed a new approach for this purpose, based on published results from EuroNCAP frontal collision crash tests, it has successfully tested whether the deformation time of the offset barrier is a valid measure for third party hazard in car to car frontal collisions.
