A comparison between the life of a recycled asphalt pavement and a new one
In this research a comparison has been done between the expected service life of two pavement sections, under the hypothesis of both hot and cold recycling rehabilitation and the behaviour that the pavement might present if rehabilitated with new materials. With this comparison it was confirmed that the use of the reclaimed material of deteriorated pavements does not reduce the quality of rehabilitation in terms of expected service life. Additionally, since the analysis was made for the techniques of hot and cold recycling, some particularities were identified. Hence, it is necessary to consider these particularities in order to make a prediction of the expected service life in the projects where these techniques are to be used.
