STUDY OF SOLUBLE GLASS FROM THE POINT OF VIEW OF ITS USE IN ROAD CONSTRUCTION

PROUCVANIJA NA VODNOTO STAKLO VAV VRAZKA S PRILOZENIETO MU V PATNOTO STROITELSTVO

A STUDY IS MADE OF (1) THE INFLUENCE OF THE MODULUS AND DENSITY OF SOLUBLE GLASS ON THE MECHANICAL STRENGTH OF SILICATE CONCRETE CONTAINING SOLUBLE GLASS, AND (2) THE INTERACTION OF SOLUBLE GLASS AND AGGREGATE VARYING IN PETROGRAPHIC ORIGIN AND GRADING. RESULTS ARE GIVEN OF LABORATORY INVESTIGATIONS CARRIED OUT ON SAMPLES CONTAINING SOLUBLE GLASS AND ON SAMPLES CONTAINING ACTIVE ADMIXTURES WHICH INFLUENCE THE SETTING TIME AND RESISTANCE TO WATER OF SILICATE CONCRETE. THE LABORATORY RESULTS ARE PRESENTED IN THE FORM OF GRAPHS, AND PHOTOGRAPHS TAKEN DURING THE CONSTRUCTION OF EXPERIMENTAL SECTIONS OF ROAD ARE SHOWN. DETAILS ARE ALSO GIVEN OF THE CONSTRUCTION METHOD USED FOR THE EXPERIMENTAL SECTIONS.
