ON THE VERTICAL INCIDENTAL ANGLE OF WIND
THIS ARTICLE EMPHASIZES THE IMPORTANCE OF THE VERTICAL ANGLE OF ATTACK OF THE WIND FOR THE STABILITY OF A SUSPENSION BRIDGE AND DISCUSSES THE DESIGN SPECIFICATION AGAINST WIND FOR THE PROPOSED HANSHU-SHIKOKU BRIDGE. THE ANEMOMETERS USED TO TAKE APPROPRIATE WIND MEASUREMENTS ARE CRITICALLY DESCRIBED, AND DETAILS ARE GIVEN TOGETHER WITH A STATISTICAL ANALYSIS, OF THE RELATION BETWEEN SAMPLING TIME, WIND VELOCITY AND THE ANGLE OF INCIDENCE OF THE WIND. /TRRL/
