AGGREGATE SHAPE AND SKID RESISTANCE
A TEST METHOD IS PRESENTED FOR QUANTITATIVELY ASSESSING AGGREGATE SHAPE APPLICABLE TO SKID RESISTANCE. PICTURES OF SANDS - SIZE FRACTIONS OF VARIOUS SANDS AND THE IDENTIFICATION, SOURCE, AND USES ARE SHOWN. FOR THE LOWER LIMIT, 50% VOIDS, AS DETERMINED BY THE DRY-BULKING TEST, ARE RECOMMENDED. SPECIFICATIONS FOR SKID-RESISTANT, SAND ASPHALT SURFACES AND SKID RESISTANT CLASS I, TYPE A, MODIFIED, BITUMINOUS SURFACES CONTAINING LIGHTWEIGHT AGGREGATES ARE PROPOSED.
