RECENT DEVELOPMENTS IN STRUCTURAL STEEL AND OTHER CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS AND FABRICATING AND ERECTION TECHNIQUES HAVE HAD IMPORTANT EFFECTS ON THE COSTS OF SUSPENSION BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION.
