WITH BULK LOADING RATIOS APPROXIMATELY DOUBLE THAT OF PRILLS, SLURRIES CAN EFFECTIVELY DECREASE THE NUMBER OF DRILL HOLES, IN APPROXIMATELY THE SAME PROPORTIONS. SLURRIES ARE SAFER TO USE BECAUSE OF THEIR WATER CONTENT AND NON-LEACHING CHARACTERISTICS IN WET HOLES. NITRO-CARBO-NITRATE SLURRIES, WITH NEITHER EXPLOSIVE SENSITIZERS NOR METALLIZATION, ARE NOW A REALITY. THESE PRODUCTS ARE THE CHEAPEST SOURCE OF EXPLOSIVE POWER TODAY. SLURRIES CAN BE TAILORED TO MEET EXACTING CONDITIONS AS EVIDENCED BY ALMOST COMPLETE REPLACEMENT OF PRILLS ON THE IRON RANGE WITH THIS TYPE PRODUCT. NUCLEAR EXPLOSIVES ARE DISCUSSED AS A DEFINITE POSSIBILITY. THERMAL AND RADIOACTIVE RADIATION ARE BOTH POSSIBILITIES IF FALLOUT CAN BE HANDLED.
