DESIGN DATA FOR CURVED BRIDGES
THE RESULTS OF CURVED GIRDER RESEARCH AT THE UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND ARE SUMMARIZED IN THE FORM OF PERTINENT DESIGN DATA. THESE DATA INVOLVE (1) IMPACT FACTORS, (2) FORCE EQUATIONS, (3) DISTRIBUTION FACTORS, (4) TORSIONAL PROPERTIES, (5) SKEW SUPPORT EFFECTS, AND (6) ULTIMATE LOAD FACTORS. INITIALLY, THE DATA HAD BEEN PRESENTED IN GRAPHICAL OR TABULAR FORM. IN SOME INSTANCES, THESE DATA HAVE BEEN REDUCED TO PARAMETRIC EQUATIONS, WHICH CAN THEN BE READILY APPLIED IN DESIGN. RECOMMENDATIONS FOR FURTHER RESEARCH ARE ALSO GIVEN. /FHWA/
