DETERMINATION OF STRUCTURAL CONCRETE COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH BY MEANS OF SMALL-DIAMETER TEST CORES /IN GERMAN/
THE COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH OF STRUCTURAL CONCRETE CAN BE MORE RELIABLY DETERMINED BY MEANS OF SAMPLES THAN BY NON-DESTRUCTIVE TESTING. NORMAL SAMPLES ARE TEST CORES HAVING A DIAMETER OF 15 CM, WHICH CAN BE COMPARED WITH CUBES HAVING A 20 CM EDGE LENGTH. REMOVING OF TEST CORES 15 CM IN DIAMETER IS, HOWEVER, EXPENSIVE, AND NOT ALWAYS PRACTICABLE. TESTS WERE THEREFORE CARRIED OUT TO SEE IF SMALLER-DIAMETER TEST CORES COULD BE TAKEN. COMPARATIVE MEASUREMENTS MADE SHOWED THAT THE SMALLER SAMPLES HAD A HIGHER COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH, AND THAT THERE IS AN INCREASE IN THE SCATTER OF RESULTS. /FG/RRL/
