DYNAMIC REQUIREMENTS FOR A SUSPENDED VEHICLE SYSTEM FOR HIGH SPEED GROUND TRANSPORTATION

The continuously supported guideway is analyzed as a beam on a uniform elastic foundation, in which a traveling flexural wave is generated by the traveling vehicle load. Dynamic criteria are established for the continuous elastically supported guideway which will prevent the occurrence of large dynamic deflections and large flexural wave drag forces. Finally, the dynamic requirements for the vehicle secondary suspension system are presented in terms of the frequency response and stroke requirements necessary to prevent dynamic interaction problems.
