THE ANGULAR VARIATION OF THE PERSPECTIVE IMAGE AS A QUANTITATIVE CRITERION FOR THE OPTICAL ALIGNMENT OF ROADS /IN GERMAN/
A MATHEMATICAL METHOD IS DESCRIBED WHICH MAKES IT POSSIBLE, FROM THE PERSPECTIVE IMAGE ON THE RETINA, TO SET UP MATHEMATICAL CRITERIA FOR THREE-DIMENSIONAL ALIGNMENT. THE METHOD IS BEST SUITED TO ELECTRONIC DATA PROCESSING INSTALLATIONS, BUT SOME OF THE CRITERIA CAN BE SO SIMPLIFIED THAT THEY ALLOW DIRECT USE FOR THE ASSESSMENT OF THREE-DIMENSIONAL CURVES OF ROAD EDGES, ETC. THE METHOD GIVES UNAMBIGUOUS INFORMATION ON THE COMBINED EFFECTS OF THE GROUND PLAN AND LONGITUDINAL SECTION OF A ROAD. /TRRL/
