MEASURES OF ACCURACY FOR ANALYSIS AND DESIGN OF SURVEY
THE ANALYSIS AND DESIGN OF A SURVEY IS DISCUSSED. BOTH OF THESE ACTIVITIES ARE SHOWN TO BE BEST WHEN BASED ON THE ERROR ELLIPSE. THE FOOT-POINT CURVE IS RECOMMENDED FOR THE ANALYSIS AND A SIMPLE SOLUTION IS RECOMMENDED FOR THE COMPLICATED COMPUTATIONS OF THE FOOT-POINT CURVE. DESIGN CRITERIA ARE SUGGESTED WHERE THE ERROR ELLIPSE IS REDUCED TO A CIRCLE. A METHOD EQUALLY CAPABLE OF SOLUTION FOR TRIANGULATION OR TRILATERATION, OR THE COMBINATION OF THE TWO, IS ALSO RECOMMENDED. /AUTHOR/
