Travel planning: a growing sector finds a stronger voice

This brief article looks at the development of travel planning in the UK. The author describes how his organisation, ACT TravelWise, has been encouraging a more professional role for travel planning, including conferences, training courses and awards for good practice. He points out that some areas, such as school travel planning, need improvement, while the rail industry is introducing station travel plans and the UK's first Sustainable Travel City is to be announced.
