BRIDGE FOUNDATIONS MOVE
The postconstruction performance of several hundred bridges in the United States and Canada was related to the measured movements of their foundations. The results, presented graphically, indicate the range of vertical and horizontal movements and consequently provide realistic information for the plannning of remedial work and the practical design of new bridges. A classification of movements for bridge foundations is proposed. /Author/
