AICHI DSSS Field Evaluation Test Concerning Vehicle Infrastructure Cooperative System
This paper introduces the outline of Driving Safety Support System (DSSS) field evaluation test conducted on the public roads in Toyota City in 2008. DSSS is aimed at safe driving and congestion mitigation. This system is planned for nationwide deployment next year. The authors tested three systems in this experiment and focused on the driver acceptability. Furthermore, the effectiveness and the contrary operation are made clear on the new system. The results of our trials are getting in real product design and we believe some of the key findings from our trials will contribute to future development of the infrastructure cooperative systems.
