Lane Specific Positioning For Coopers Services -- The Virtual Galileo Approach
For the Coopers project the object of robust positioning is of main interest for the European Commission and especially the potential contribution of Galileo to support the selected Coopers services. Therefore a unique approach has been designed called “virtual Galileo” to test the benefits of Galileo within the application, before the space segment of Galileo has been installed. On the basis and with the innovative exploration of infrastructure elements the newly developed robust positioning unit (RPU) will provide the feature of lane specific positioning for the demonstration of Coopers services. The established scientific development environment and the achieved performance during real life demonstrations will be presented in the course of this paper.
