Automated Radar Sensor by Switching Bandwidth
This article describes a system which is adapting radar sensor resolution by switching bandwidth. Modification of the bandwidth is meaningful, since radar sensors resolution is proportional to their bandwidth. For example, an increasing bandwidth leads to an improved resolution while the sensor range is reduced. The idea behind this system is to adapt the sensor's range depending on the current traffic situation. The bandwidth switching process is based on information of the own car (like velocity) as well as on the position of tracked radar objects.
