Research on a Safe-Driving Support System for Winter Roads
Winter roads in cold, snowy regions are prone to severe conditions such as snowstorm-induced poor visibility. To ensure drivers' safety and to increase their sense of safety, the authors conducted experiments on two services that use ITS technologies. One service provides region-wide snowstorm information, and the other warns drivers of stopped cars ahead. Both services were found to be effective in improving drivers' safety and in increasing their sense of safety on winter roads. For the covering abstract see ITRD E143097.
