An Action to the Travel Time Prediction using Dedicated Short Range Communication
Current travel time information provided by the Central Nippon Expressway Company, Limited (C-NEXCO) assumes that traffic conditions do not change from the point of information retrieval and does not consider changes in conditions during traffic jams. As a result, deviation between the provided travel time and actual travel time occurs, requiring improvement in information accuracy. As such, in order to provide more accurate travel time prediction, this paper reports on DSRC (dedicated short range communications) to examine travel time predicting technology using roadside DSRC beacons (11 units) installed on Tomei Expressway (Tokyo bound) between Yokohama-Machida interchange and Ohi-Matsuda interchange in fiscal 2008.
