Vulnerable Road User Detection
In this paper the problem of accidents between heavy vehicles and vulnerable road users, defined as pedestrians and cyclists, and the need for a way of reducing these accidents is discussed. This paper also describes the challenges the development of a collision avoidance system with the purpose of reducing the number of accidents involving heavy vehicles and vulnerable road users’ faces, including how to deal with driver acceptance.
