Wildlife Deer Collision Warning – Increasing Road Safety; Minimizing Deer Related Accident Costs
In this paper, the negative consequences of deer-related accidents are shown. Further, characteristics of these types of accidents are revealed. Measures to reduce collisions with animals are rather expensive and inefficient, due to various circumstances, for example the deer becomes accustomed to some measures. A new, more effective device is developed in Austria at the moment. First results in test sites around Austria and the United States show that the device is to 90 % and more effective.
