LNG--U.S. AND FOREIGN TRAFFIC--AN OVERVIEW

Gas furnishes 33% of the U.S. total energy requirement and it is now in short supply. The gap between energy needs and energy supply is due to the interaction of many complex factors. Yet the primary cause is laid to over-regulation by the Government. This regulation has maintained even prices in inflationary times which has discouraged exploration for new sources. Foreign sources are available but differences in economic philosophy between producer and government is slowing the development of these sources.
