OBJECTIVE PROJECT ASSIGNMENT IN AN INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING ORGANIZATION
The problem faced by managers of IE staff activities concerning the allocation and scheduling of resources of projects over a finite planning horizon so as to maximize a measure of return to the firm has been defined and modeled, and algorithms for its solution indicated. An important factor of the problem has been shown to be the structure of the organization. Constraints of the problem included limited resources, precedence relationships, and absolute project due dates.
