Using the digital tachograph in combination with DSRC
Using the digital tachograph in combination with DSRC (Dedicated Short Range Communication) produces effects in fleet management. Specifically, appropriate information can be exchanged between drivers and their business office remotely in a timely fashion while they are on the road. Also, driving data can be transmitted from the digital tachograph to the business office through DSRC. This allows the automation of the production of a daily journal that illustrates the driving data in detail. Consequently, the combined use of digital tachographs and DSRC will reduce the workload of drivers, make vehicle allocation more efficient, and improve fuel efficiency.
