Ubiquitous ITS R&D project
To make the road environment safer, more efficient, and more convenient, it is necessary to integrate the advancement of vehicle, road, and telecommunications. Six companies cooperated and started an R&D project named Ubiquitous ITS in 2005, funded by the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT). The project is a three-year-project, consisting of three themes, namely the studies of vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-roadside communications, telematics, and distributing road traffic information via digital terrestrial broadcasting. This paper explains the contents and progress made in the second year of the project. For the covering abstract see ITRD E140665.
