2008 Florida Transit Handbook
This Handbook offers a general overview of public transit in the State of Florida. It provides a synopsis of Florida Department of Transportation's (FDOT's) transit resources, a profile of Florida's transit systems, and a snapshot of their performance in 2007. The focus of this handbook is on Florida's urban fixed-route transit systems. In 2007, Florida's 28 fixed-route urban transit systems (including bus, rail, and vanpool modes) provided transportation for almost 257 million trips. This represents an increase of over 3% between 2006 and 2007. During the same period, Florida's transit ridership also grew two times faster than the rate of the population.
