Toronto Pearson International Airport: Airfield Lighting Systems
Operated by the Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) under a lease agreement with the Canadian government, Toronto Pearson International Airport is located 25 kilometers from downtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The entire airport has been upgraded and improved by the GTAA, including new airfield lighting and control systems, a co-generation facility, an on-airport people mover system, new cargo facilities, a new terminal, and two new runways. The author presents an overview of Toronto Pearson International Airport's installed and operating airport guidance lighting systems, essential safety components. Such lighting includes runways, taxiways, high-speed exits, and apron entrances. GTAA is dedicated to equipment and system use that provides potential energy savings and longer lamp life. New, more efficient product and process selection is allowing the airport to reduce electrical consumption.
