A Study on the Promotion of Guiding and Supporting Behaviors in Barrier-Free Traffic Systems
Preparation of fundamental plans for barrier-free traffic systems has been progressing in municipalities throughout Japan. However, soft measures, such as raising public awareness regarding barrier-free issues and improving public understanding about these issues, have not progressed. In this present study, a leaflet was prepared based on the need for educational activities aimed at a large proportion of the general public, which summarized the guiding and supporting behaviors to use for the disabled according to the type of disability. The present study aimed to determine the effect of the leaflet on modifying guiding and supporting behaviors. After preparing the leaflet, a behavioral plan method was adopted. The method’s efficacy in modifying attitude and behavioral was observed, and the effects were evaluated according to the norm activation theory.
