Accessible Ground Transportation: Peru Needs Great Help in this Matter
This paper describes how the situation of accessible ground transportation in Peru is terrible, especially for people with disabilities (PWD). The General Law for PWD (Law No. 27050) and its ruling touch the subject in a very lenient way. The only thing that is stated in those laws is that it is mandatory to have seats reserved for PWD. This paper makes a brief introduction on what the actual situation is and tries to recommend actions that should be taken by the multiple stakeholders that this matter has. Peru is for help and support from specialists in order to come up with a plan that will avoid mistakes that have been made by other poor countries in developing accessible transportation systems.
