MANEUVERING CONTROL OF REPLENISHMENT AT SEA
An investigation of the maneuvering control of ships involved in the replenishment at sea operation under calm water conditions is carried out. The linearized differential equations of motion of a vessel in the horizontal plane are established and implemented for the formation of computer programs, useful for the study of the behavior and stability of the ship with and without the influence of control surfaces (rudders). Three methods of controlling automatically the maneuvering of two ships, in replenishment at sea, under the influence of interactive forces and moments, based on the classical feedback control theory are presented, compared and conclusions are finally drawn about the efficiency of these methods.
