A VARIATIONAL PRINCIPLE FOR FINITE DEFORMATIONS OF QUASI-SHALLOW SHELLS
A variational principle is established for treating the finite deformation of quasi-shallow shells. The special case corresponding to Marguerre's shallow shell theory is discussed. An example of snap-through of a shallow cylindrical panel clamped at one of its curved edges is analyzed by the variational principal given here.
