The Office of Global Maritime Situational Awareness
This article provides an overview of the U.S. Coast Guard's Office of Global Maritime Situational Awareness, the aim of which is to partner with the maritime community both inside and outside the government to build processes and working relationships that increase the ability to link global maritime domain awareness. Such an enhanced capability will benefit the full spectrum of maritime domain needs including security, safety, the environment, and commerce in not only an emergency such as a hurricane, but also in day-to-day operations.
