Vehicle detection and classification by contour shape model

A video-based system for vehicle detection is considered. A contour shape method is proposed to detect and recognize the vehicles in the complicated conditions. The method is a good compromise between the detection quality and computational cost. The real-time version of contour shape algorithm has been implemented in "TrafficMonitor-C" visual surveillance system. For the covering abstract see ITRD E140665.
