An investment programme without precedent
Greater Manchester's Transport Innovation Fund (TIF) bid is a proposed £3 billion package of improvements to all transport modes including extensions to Metrolink, bus network improvements, park and ride sites, smart card ticketing, walking and cycling considerations, and a state of the art information and incident detection system for road users. The package being consulted on is designed to knit the various strands together into an integrated whole. This article looks in detail at the proposals for buses, rail, the Metrolink, tickets and information systems and park and ride facilities.
