Map attributes for heavy vehicle applications

The "Safe Operation for Large Vehicles Initiative", a Swedish project, addresses the use of navigation and warning systems for heavy goods vehicles. For this, additional road information related to heavy vehicle operations is needed, and specific applications enabled for this information need to be developed. Furthermore, these applications need to be tested. This paper describes the developments in the project concerning the data flow for static, temporary and dynamic road information from the public road authority via the digital map provider and the service provider to the in-vehicle system, to enable real time data, with a focus on specific information for heavy goods vehicles.
