GUIDE FOR THE SELECTION OF WROUGHT ALUMINUM PLATE AND SHAPES FOR SHIP STRUCTURES
A convenient guide for ship designers and builders of the Americas in evaluating available alloy sizes and shapes of wrought aluminum suitable for shipbuilding and other marine applications. The guide supersedes Bulletin No. 2-5, Tentative Code for the Selection of Wrought Aluminum Alloys for Ship Structures, and Bulletin No. 2-7, Tentative Standard Aluminum Alloy Tee and Angle Shapes for Ship Structures. Reflecting experience with the use of aluminum since the superseded bulletins were published in 1959, the guide was prepared by Task Group HS-6-1 ( Aluminum ) of the Materials Panel, Hull Structure Committee.
