Person Travel in Norwegian Trade and Industries
The report analyses Norwegian trade and industry's experiences with transport supply and how the authorities can facilitate more efficient passenger transport. Business travelers are heavily reliant upon good air services, and would like to see additional destinations covered by direct flights and more frequent departures from Norwegian airports. Also measures relating to the infrastructure at airports (for example more efficient security routines and Internet access) were considered important. In the Oslo area traffic congestion and parking problems cause stress and delays for workers relying on car transport in their work. Measures to reduce the number of private cars going into the centre of Oslo are considered crucial. The last part of the project analyses the opportunities to improve labor supply by developing the road networks surrounding regional centers. It turns out that this has only limited effect. On the other hand, high-speed intercity trains can help expand the commuter belt around Oslo.
