Appraising Operational Performance and Service Quality (OPSQ) of Airlines in Taiwan
An effective and fair appraisal system of airlines is extremely important for governments. The authorities must adopt such a system for various reasons, including safety management, operational surveillance, and impartial public resource allotment. This study develops an effective quantitative model for appraising the operational performance and service quality (OPSQ) of airlines by using on-the-spot investigation and record review. An empirical study of four major domestic airlines in Taiwan is presented to illustrate the model operation. This appraisal process can be used to maintain airline operational and management performance at the requested level. By allowing customers a safe and high quality air transport environment, it is possible to achieve a winning situation for government, airlines and customers.
