Investigation into the State of Traffic Monitoring Systems Worldwide
This document reports on the review of the international literature that was carried out for the handbook ‘Regional Traffic Monitoring’. This handbook is developed as part of the research program Advanced Traffic MOnitoring (ATMO), which itself is part of the Dutch innovation program TRANsition to SUstainable MObility (TRANSUMO). The literature review is important for several reasons: it reveals lessons learned appropriate for the handbook, while, at the same time, it indicates where important complications exist that require specific consideration. The information from the literature review is currently incorporated in the first version of the handbook.
