Analysis of the safety benefits of heavy vehicle accreditation schemes
The purpose of this investigation was to determine the safety benefits of heavy vehicle accreditation. Accreditation is a formal process for recognising operators who have good safety and other management systems in place. Those management systems include vehicle maintenance, driver fatigue, driver training, vehicle loading and the many other factors that affect heavy vehicle safety and sustainability. (a)
